Distribution and Sales Questions

The minimum specs can be found here. Please note, the game is currently undergoing bug fixing, polish, and optimization so it is likely the specs will need to be adapted.

Yes! We are working to bring the game to Mac OS as soon as we can post-launch. Everyone that buys the game via Steam will have access to it on Windows, Linux, and Mac – with just a single purchase! This means if you buy a Windows version today on Steam you are also getting Steam OS and Mac.

There will be no difference between the boxed version and the digital versions from the perspective of the game itself. Both versions will utilize Steam (except that the boxed version comes with the game already loaded onto a DVD). That said, the boxed version will come with an actual printed manual and, of course, a beautifully designed box.

We plan to announce details of physical box distributors soon. Our goal is to bring a boxed version of the game to as many territories as possible but note that given the shift of the industry to digital distribution, in some regions this simply will not be possible. The full list of territories where you can buy a boxed copy will be posted on our website as soon as it’s available.

Steam is the free digital distribution platform that is powering the game. To learn more about Steam click HERE. We chose Steam to power all versions of our game so that we could create one unified RollerCoaster Tycoon experience for all players. If you don’t have it already, it will automatically install when you install the game, and is completely free.  Additionally, utilizing Steam allows us to offer things like Cloud Saving, Steam Controller Support, and Steam Workshop, all seamlessly integrated across Windows and Linux (as well as Mac post-launch).

The game is available via steamgames.com, rollercoastertycoon.com and atari.com. Additionally, it can be found through various online retailers, including Humble Store, GreenMan Gaming, Gamersgate, and more.
